Sunshine Coast Marine Rescue Society
The SUNSHINE COAST MARINE RESCUE SOCIETY (SCMRS) is the fundraising arm of Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 12.
RCMSAR Station 12 is on call and ready to respond to marine emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in all types of weather and sea conditions. Our search and rescue operations, crewed by highly trained professionals, serve an area of almost 600 square kilometres within an area from McNaughton Point to Halibut Bank and across the Salish Sea and along BC’s Middle Sunshine Coast. To reduce the risk of boating incident’s and drownings, we also promote public awareness of water safety through school outreach activities, pleasure craft safety checks, loans of PFDs for kids and adults and our work in community events. All of our members are unpaid volunteers, fully engaged in supporting our communities and dedicated to saving lives on the water.
Donations play a vital role in sustaining local marine search and rescue services that are so important to coastal communities such as ours. Please consider supporting RCMSAR Station 12 through a donation to the SUNSHINE COAST MARINE RESCUE SOCIETY, a charitable organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency.
